  1. In a cooking pan, heat 1/2 tsp ghee. Roast the peanuts till light golden in colour. Take out from the pan and keep aside.
  2. Add another 1/2 tsp ghee and roast the sooji till it changes colour slightly. Take out from the pan and keep aside.
  3. Heat the water and keep aside.
  4. In the same pan, heat remaining ghee. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Add asafoetida, red chillies and curry leaves. Saute for 30 seconds.
  5. Add onions and green chillies. Cook till the onions are translucent.
  6. Add tomatoes and salt and cook till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  7. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and lemon juice and saute for a minute or two.
  8. Add sooji and saute well. Add hot water and cook for a minute. Keeping the flame on low, cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Off the flame and let the pan remain covered for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve warm.
  9. Optional: Garnish with coriander leaves.
