  2. Prepare 1/2 Carrot

  6. Get 1 tbsp ◎Sake
  7. Make ready 1 tbsp ※Sesame oil (for stir frying)

Papaya stir fry was a common dish in our dining table. My Achan (dad)loved this version and Amma used to prepare it for us. It is a simple recipe with less ingredients but tastes heavenly. Stir in onion, and garlic; cook Stir in papaya; heat through.

Instructions to make Papaya Stir-Fry:
  1. Cut the papaya in half and peel the skin. Julienne the papaya with a slicer or something similar and soak in water to remove the acerbic taste.
  2. Cut the carrot into the same sized thin strips.
  3. Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan. Add the papaya and carrot and stir-fry so that they are coated in the oil. Once they become tender, add the tuna.
  4. Add the ◎ ingredients and simmer until the liquid evaporates.
  5. Once the liquid has evaporated, it's done.

Rewhisk soy sauce mixture; stir into pan. Papaya Stir Fry (Kapplanga ularthu/Mezhukkupuratti) is very simple to prepare and it is very delicious too. It is a very healthy recipe that can be added to vegetarian meals. You may never have thought of stir frying papaya but the result is soft, sweet and tender. I knew a long time ago that I could cook papaya.
